Oh, how could you? And you even continue
Down the venue of self-destruction! Why?
Try as I may, I cannot understand this,
Though I do detest to reprimand, but you,
You heeded the call and command of God,
And we locked arms, stood against harm,
Shoulder to shoulder demanding darkness
Leave your home, and even wrote a prayer
To singe the hair of the devil; ah! it was so!
And being bold in Christ, without hesitation,
We tore down strongholds, and claimed His
Crown over our lives, the land and house…
Ah, but did your conviction then grow cold,
Or were there secret restrictions and hidden
Reservations in your consecration all along?
To whom do you belong? Yet you presumed
To sing songs of praise while raising poison
Pill taken from the hand of the very Enemy
That we were fighting together in the might
Of the Spirit! Should you be surprised, then,
By the wicked bite and very painful smite?
(Accept the offers of the Enemy
And you end up in his coffers!)
No! Our Accuser still has you in his clutches,
Walking on spiritual crutches as you bow
Before his beast in your home, who nicely
Feeds you his poison and you pay the price;
Yet you still happily and senselessly take
From the hand of the Enemy the least, little
Proffered gift, vainly imagining that you can
Tame a beast who easily feasts on your soul!
Why? Why did we fight together only for you
To gleefully flee the battlefield to yield
To the beast and his master? Oh, disaster!
Know this: God does not play games
And He will not be tamed; oh no!
He came that night and now nothing
Will be the same, but ever changed
For the sake of His glorious Name!
But will this all be to your shame?
What partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? (II Corinthians 6. 14-15)
‘Choose this day whom you will serve … but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.’ (Joshua 24. 15)
